Join Christine and Sjanie in a lively dialogue as they try to understand the importance of politics in our moral lives, hosted by Kris Archie. Including through stories of their own mistakes, chaotic families, and imperfect efforts to give back to this city they love.
Christine Boyle is a community organizer, climate justice activist, and United Church Minister. She is a running for City Council with OneCity Vancouver in the Oct 20th municipal election. She has a teenager and a preschooler.
Sjanie McInnis is a yoga teacher trainer, a singer, a mentor, a vocal and public speaking coach, Crossfit instructor, and local do-gooder. She lives in Vancouver with her partner and two children.
Kristine Mae Rose Archie is a community leader and facilitator with a number of local and national efforts. She is a mother of a teenager and a proud aunty, a Secwepemc woman and Seme7 settler.
There is no cost to attending this event – but please reserve your space at: www.frommoraltopolitical.eventbrite.ca
Note: This event isn’t specifically about yoga. It’s being hosted with a curiosity about how lessons of spiritual and moral traditions – frequently distorted and commodified in Western culture – can invite us into deep personal growth and powerful collective action, for the many and not the few.
There won’t be stretching or chanting. There’s likely to be (non-compulsory) laughter. It will undoubtedly be imperfect. Please bring your questions and your hopes for the future of this city we share.
