The bad news? There are no shortcuts to all-around health. The good news? The ‘long way around’ produces healthy habits that last. Are you the kind of person who falls for promises of cleanses, diet culture, and ‘quick fixes’? Did you know that the best way to help your body and immune system is committing to the ‘un-sexy’ stuff? We’re talking sustainable exercise, drinking enough water, adequate sleep, time outside in sunlight, and moderating or eliminating substances like alcohol, etc.
Kick off 2023 by challenging yourself to drop a bad habit for 40 days, while committing to a GREAT habit (yoga). We can’t wait for you to experience what this simple practice will do for you.
40 Day Challenge FAQ
Q. How does it work?
A. FOR NEW STUDENTS ONLY: Complete minimum 40 classes at STRETCH between Jan 1 and Feb 9, 2023. Students who complete 40 classes will have their $40 pass purchase refunded, or donated to charity.
Q. Do I have to do a class every day?
A. No. You can start after Jan 1 or finish before Feb 9, skip some days, or do more than one class per day to get to 40 within the timeframe.
Q. How do I track my challenge?
A. We will add a challenge tracker on the wall in-studio. You are also welcome to track in your own way, log into your account to check your visits, or you can also email us to check your visits, since we have that record on our end.
Q. Can I do more than 40 classes?
A. You can do as many or as few classes as you want during your 40 days. (The 40 Day Challenge pass is essentially a 40-Day Unlimited Membership). But to receive the pass refund/donate to charity at the end of the Challenge, you must complete minimum 40 classes.
Q. I already have a pass/membership at STRETCH. Can I still join the challenge?
A. This challenge is for new students only.
Q. What classes count towards the challenge?
A. Any class or workshop you attend at STRETCH between Jan 1 and Feb 9, including online classes. (Note that workshops are purchased separately, but will be counted towards your visit total.)
Q. What’s the point of doing a challenge?
A. Consistency and patience produce results that last. The best way to help your body and immune system is by committing to good habits over time. We encourage you to start 2023 by upping your yoga to reduce stress and get your daily movement in!
Q. Is it ok to join the challenge if I’m a beginner?
A. Yes! Explore at your own pace and be sure to let your teachers know that you’re new to yoga so they can offer support as needed.
Q. How should I dress when I come for class?
A. Wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in. You’ll want to make sure it’s not too loose since some postures turn you upside down. Bare feet are worn for practice.
Q. Does STRETCH have mats and props I can borrow for class?
A. Yes, we have complimentary mats and props you can borrow. We also sell mats and props for purchase.
Q. When should I arrive for class?
A. Please always come at least 15 minutes early to allow time to sign in and get settled.
Q. Are there change rooms and showers?
A. Yes, we have change rooms and showers available for use when you come for class.
